We had a great turnout for our November meeting. Cassidy Smith was our featured performer and he amazed everyone with the Dai Vernon cups and balls routine, ending with final loads of two lemons and a lime. Junior member William Cotterall performed a three-phase mental routine using Post-It notes and showed us that he is adept at mind reading and precognition.
November is the month we elect new officers for the coming year. Each of the current officers was nominated for the same position and all were voted in by acclamation. William Rader will again be our President, Cassidy Smith our VP, Lee Woodside our Secretary, and Michael King our Treasurer. William Cotterall was voted in as Junior President.
Our theme for November was Mentalism. Lee Woodside taught his “Predict-A-Pet” routine, which uses multiple outs, and presented everyone in attendance with a set of props for performing the effect. William Rader taught a mental prediction effect making use of equivoque. Magical Michael Stephanic demonstrated and taught a card divination routine where the performer divines multiple selected cards. He also showed a close-up prediction using a pen with the name of a playing card written on it. He then handed out the special pens to everyone.
